About The Event
I am so happy to say that I am able to offer a 7 week fitness course this semester for Middle and High School aged students!
This class will be Fridays, at EBC, 7:45-8:40am starting 9/22 and ending 11/10.
Cost is $100 per student, $85 per sibling - to be collected on first day of class
In this class, your student will learn basic muscle anatomy along with weight training exercises. I will walk them through the benefits of certain heart rates while performing strength training vs cardio and teach them the similarities and differences of playing a sport vs working out in a gym.
The final weeks will be spent in scripture. We will take all that we've learned about modern fitness and apply it to the life of an ancient civilian. We will read about harvesting crops, then do that (it may look like gardening around the campus). We will read about bringing animals to the alter, then do that (in the form of sandbags dressed like a calf!) The opportunities to mimic ancient life are countless. The students will compare heart rates, muscle fatigue, etc. to how they felt when in the gym.
The goal is to expand their idea of fitness. God created us with great intention and I believe we need to be strong to live in the world He created for us. With a renewed mind regarding this topic - my prayer is that they can see the fitness industry for what it is, an industry that (not all, but most) tries to profit on your insecurities. Our final week together we will dive into Scripture to see what God has to say about where we find our worth and value; and my prayer is that these students leave loving themselves not because of how they look - but because they are confident in the fact that He loved them first.

-Cost is $100 for first student, $85 per sibling, due the first day of classes. Cash, Albertsons, Visa/Mastercard, or Gas giftcard, or venmo @Nedda-McKnight;
-Class will be 9/22-11/10 with a break on 10/20 (there are no AGT classes that entire week);
-We will start promptly at 7:40am and end at 8:30am as we have students that need to leave campus for a 9am class;
-Students must come dressed ready to move their bodies in weather appropriate clothes, including closed toed shoes;
-A notebook is required for tracking daily exercises, heart rates, etc.;
-Please send ample water and a small towel;
-Depending on when your child wakes up, a light breakfast is recommended. Toast with peanut butter and berries or an egg on top are some good examples. If your child wakes up and goes straight to school I recommend waiting until after class to eat. At the end of the day, you know your child best and I trust your judgment on how he or she handles physical activity after eating. (Can they eat before swimming without throwing up? then they'll be fine!)
"I am so looking forward to this! Feel free to reach out with any questions."
