What is Transformed Fitness?
Transformed Fitness is rooted in Romans 12:2 - and my desire is to create an awareness that health is far more than what the world has been selling us. I focus on Mental, Spiritual, and Physical health, with absolutely NO focus on body image.Â
Â
How did it get started?
After being diagnosed with dysthymia (prolonged depression disorder) in January 2020, I started seeing an amazing therapist through North Coast Church. With her help, I was able to set up practical things in my daily routine that helped my well-being. Staying in the Word and moving my body outside in His fresh air were two integral components of staying mentally healthy. I wanted to take this newly learned, what-felt-like-a-miracle understanding and share it with women everywhere! Transformed Fitness started as a business, however I intentionally kept my prices incredibly low (1/3 of local fitness group prices) because my passion was seeing women healthy, not making money. I stopped classes while I was pregnant because I was very sick. Now that I have had beautiful Selah, I am looking forward to starting up again!
Â
What does a class with me look like?
My classes are 45-60 minutes, for women only, and include mental, physical, and spiritual stimulation.Â
Mental:Â all classes are held outside and in a group setting. This is because there are many studies that prove vitamin D and fresh air are crucial for good mental health! Being with a group of others who have the same (non worldly) goals will also keep you encouraged and excited to show up.
Physical:Â My HIIT style classes include light weight lifting - it's not all just running and jumping jacks. I equip the women with the knowledge of weight lifting vs cardio. The fitness industry has duped women for far too long that we belong on the treadmill!
Spiritual:Â Each class is completed with cool down stretches (not yoga, simply athletic stretching accompanied by worship music) and a short Scripture based devotional and/or prayer. Spiritual health tends to be the first thing that goes in a busy life, my goal is to encourage others to stay in the Word and see just how important our Spiritual health is.
