Service Project: Valentine's Day at Senior Nursing Facility

Join us this Saint Valentine’s Day (the day before to be exact, Feb 13) at Fallbrook Skilled Nursing Facility for a short, but sweet time spent with senior residents. Alongside the residents, families will create a Valentine craft, read picture books, color, and chat with residents. This is a short, but meaningful event.

Important notes:

• Crafts made with residents will stay at the facility to decorate the common spaces. Please let your children know ahead of time that they won’t be taking their craft home.

• Many residents are in memory care or have hearing and cognitive challenges. Patience and a warm smile go a long way. We encourage families to take initiative in engaging with residents as small efforts make a big impact. It may feel awkward at first, but the residents are genuinely delighted to have us there.
