About The Event

Palomar Observatory and Hale Telescope on Palomar Mountain visitor center, telescope, and picnic field trip provides a tangible experience to our telescope history and space exploration understanding. This trip is best suited to students 12+, as the materials are not hands-on like a science center, yet still interesting and inspiring, much like a museum.  We will enjoy reading information and pondering the awe of creation in juxtaposition to the secular worldview and great human accomplishments at this research center in the visitor center.  Next we will romp to the Hale Telescope, ascend its 70 stairs, complete our investigation, then return to the picnic grounds to enjoy lunch together.
