Teen Huddle Series is a 6-week long series of weekly gatherings for students ages 12 and up. Our discussion topics will be based on The Fruits of the Spirit. One sign-up per student--the ticket price is for the entire 6-week series.
One-off teen events are super fun, but it can be hard for teens to develop long term friendships when only seeing others once every couple of months. This is where teen huddle comes in. The goal of our huddle series is to provide a safe and healthy place for our teens to connect with other teens from like-minded families through a series of several meetings. It's a continued frequency over time that fosters solid friendship building. Huddle Series' offer an opportunity for frequent meetings and a focus on frienship and community without added pressures.
We use scripture as the basis for our discussion so that conversations begin at the very best foundation--the Word of God. Huddle is not a teaching bible study, nor do we aspire to be like a modern church youth group. We desire to add to (not replace) what your family is already during at home and in their Christian community. Huddle is for homeschool teens to connect with other homeschool teens. It's a place to be casual, comfortable, have conversations and enjoy some fun together.
Students will receive a small notebook they will use to think on a few things before coming to the huddle--this way their minds are engaged. Notebooks include scripture writing and answering a conversational question or two. Students can expect to spend 1-2 days a week in their notebooks (with the option to do more, if desired), for 10-20 minutes. These questions provide thoughtful springboard for dicussion and connection in a small group setting.
At huddle, we'll have hangout, discussion groups, activities, games, snack, and more hangout. Students will be divided into guys and gals small groups for the discussion time, but all other activities will be mixed. We have a male and female adult parent, and we have a male and female college student as committed leaders for our summer series. Luke, Grace, James and Brooke. Each one of these individuals loves Jesus, has experience working with students, and cares deeply about the goal of teen huddle for our homeschoolers.
Summer Series Huddle Dates: June 20, June 27, July 11, July 18, July 25, August 1
We will provide a sign-up sheet for parents to provide a snack/treat at each huddle (except first and last).
We also hope to plan a few extra activities/events (examples: beach, bowling, baseball game, service project, etc) outside of huddle meetings for extra fun!
The cost of huddle is per student; it covers the cost of booklets and game materials.
Any questions: contact Brooke, James, or Crystal.
Any parents who desire to help with planning activities, providing extras, or hosting, please contact Brooke. Your help and support is always a blessing!
Lastly, we desire huddle to be an encouraging, warm, welcoming, safe place for homeschooled teens to connect with like-minded peers and grow in ways that lead toward Christ. Any individual who repeatedly detracts from this will be asked to take a break from huddle. Just a reminder. :)
