About The Event

Stonewall Peak

An  intermediate level, 3.4 mile out and back trail that gains about 800  feet of elevation and takes you to a granite peak with 360 degree views.  Trail is wooded with scrub brush areas, but gets exposed as you reach  the top. Stairs and iron railings at the peak add to the grandeur and  danger of the height at the peak. There is exposure at the top, see the  image to the left. This is a pretty steep hike, but it is worth the reward especially if it's a clear day.

At the base of this trail is a smaller, more level nature trail loop only a half mile long, great for littles.

To  reach either of these, you'll park in the Pasa Pichaco Campground area.  Stonewall peak is across the road, the nature loop trail surrounds the  parking lot. We will meet in the parking lot.

Bring water, snacks, sun and wind protection, and your nature journal!
